PLIA Applied for Permit to Chemically Treat Up to 40 Acres of Pewaukee Lake in 2006, including area adjacent to Public Beach.  View Printable Version
    Monday, April 24 2006 @ 11:41 AM CDT

News 2004-2006Various riparian owners on Pewaukee Lake have applied to the DNR for a permit to chemically treat up to 40 acres of water in Pewaukee Lake, including condominium owners adjacent to the public beach in the Village of Pewaukee. The applicants own lake property in the City of Pewaukee, Village of Pewaukee and the Town of Delafield.

The PLIA (Pewaukee Lake Improvement Association) led by Robert Giblin published a notice in the Lake Country Reporter on Thursday (April 20, 2006) indicating that the permit applicants would hold a public meeting in the event five or more individuals, organizations, special units of government, or local units of government requested one. The PLIA has specified that requests must be made within five (5) days of the publication (April 20th, 2006).

Last year Robert Giblin applied for and received a permit to chemically treatment of up to 8 acres of Pewaukee Lake for The Kopmeier Group, after attempts to influence the City of Pewaukee to chemically treat the lake failed.

The PLIA has mandated that if you request a meeting, you must specify the topics to be discussed at the meeting, including the problems and alternatives, and must be sent in writing to both:
